Fundraisers took the plunge on New Year’s Day - by running 4k before entering an icy reservoir in the name of charity.
The ‘Dash and Dip’ event at Manvers Lake was organised to raise money for Rotherham Hospice and saw 25 men and women take part,
Some participants wore fancy dress costumes, with one participant wearing only his swimming trunks to enter the water.
Organiser Ashley Corker said: “This is the first time we have done this event and we weren’t sure what to expect.
“I thought people might just have a paddle, but everyone went in the water to at least waist height.
“Everyone who took part said that they would definitely do it again, and we now hope that we can encourage others to join them next year.”
