Performing arts students from Doncaster College put on a show for the festive season with their own version of A Christmas Carol at the Harvey Theatre on the High Melton campus.

Based on the Dickens classic novella, 33 first year Level 3 performing arts students devised the 40-minute performance, combining dance, movement and mime to a background soundtrack of carols and music.

“It brought the story alive in a completely fresh and festive way,” said college spokesman Dave Hiskey.

The course they attend is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of performing arts, and may progress to a degree level acting course.
