DEDICATED Doncaster pensioner Olive Wall bounced back from a heart attack to lead community walks in her home village...
And now the 80-year-old from Thorne has been honoured with the Walking for Health Exceptional Service Award for the resilience she has shown. The Walking for Health initiative is run by Doncaster Council and NHS Doncaster to get people walking more.
Every week since 2005, the former guide leader has been leading a morning walk through Thorne.
She had a heart attack last year - but soon got back in her walking boots.
Olive said: “I’ve always loved walking from a very young age and it’s a passion that has never left me. I’m thrilled to receive the Walking for Health Exceptional Service Award – I’m very touched and I would like to thank my friends in the Thorne Walking Group for their tremendous support over the years.”
