A CONCERT starring the Sheffield Klezmer Band is to be held at Sheffield University’s student union on Wednesday, May 18 at 7pm to raise money for the Paces School in High Green.
Klezmer is the traditional Jewish folk music of Eastern Europe and underwent a revival in the 1980s as part of the world music movement.
The Paces charity works with adults and families of children with cerebral palsy and is currently bidding to become Sheffield’s first Free School.
Ray Kohn, the band leader since 1987, said: “The achievements of children with cerebral palsy who attend Paces School are amazing.”
Paces has an Open Day for parents and children on Monday May 16 and the website www.paces-school.org.uk has more details.
