Food from around the globe will be on the menu as Sheffield University’s students’ union holds its annual World Food Festival.
Organised by students, the evening event, on Saturday, November 23, involves societies representing more than 12 cultural groups creating dishes from across the continents.
There will be more than 20 hot dishes to choose from, with more than 10 dessert choices also available at the festival.
The event, at the university’s Octagon Centre, on Western Bank, showcases the variety of countries represented at the university.
Alex Kohnert, international officer at the union, said: “The Octagon will be transformed for the night into a mini tour of the globe showcasing food from the different continents of the world.
“Guests can choose what food they wish to taste, paying small amounts for each dish to create their perfect meal.
“We are aiming to get more people from Sheffield involved in the event this year and local residents will be particularly welcome.”
Tickets, £6 in advance or £7 on the door, are available from the union box office.
All profits from the event will go to Children with Cancer UK and MOBA, a charity which helps children orphaned by the Bosnian war.
