VULNERABLE youngsters across Doncaster are set for an extra special Easter.

Two organisations within the borough have donated hundreds of Easter eggs to be distributed among youngsters by Doncaster Council’s Children and Young People’s Service.

For the fourth year running, Doncaster’s Life Changers Family Church has donated 220 eggs to the council’s social work teams, with around 50 more being delivered from Steadman Funeral Directors.

Doncaster Council’s director of the children services, Chris Pratt, said: “Easter is a special time for many families, and the generosity of local organisations means many of our vulnerable children and young people will now be able to enjoy at least one Easter treat as well.”

Pastor Philip Hills added: “At Life Changers Church we believe in an Easter blessing. Over the years we’ve helped to raise money to practically show our love and we just wanted to bring a little joy into the lives of children in need here in Doncaster.”

Steadman’s manager, Rob McMurdo, added: “The generosity of the Doncaster community never ceases to amaze me. Thanks to everyone who has donated.”
