Bawtry Amateur Dramatic Society’s Young Players have been busy rehearsing their production of House of the Rising Stars being performed at the Phoenix Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday.
The play, written by Bawtry Youth Theatre’s Rob Southwick, is a parody of shows like the X Factor and highlights the best and the worst of them. A good part of the material has been written by and devised by the cast.
The first part of the show focuses on the auditions, most of which are toe-curlingly bad, while the second shows young performers in an X Factor-type house where they see the true reality of what they are being asked to do.
The third part of the show gives the cast a chance to show off their talents.
Profits will go to the Phoenix Theatre Roof Repair Fund. Call 01302 532335 to buy tickets to see the show.
