DRAGONS’ Den star Peter Jones was among the guests who took to the stage at the MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival conference in the City Hall, along with some of the most successful graduates of his Enterprise Academy.
He urged budding entrepreneurs not to be put off if people dismissed their business ideas.
“I advise you too take that with a little bit of a pinch of salt,” he said.
Mr Jones said that it was the small and medium sized businesses that would lead the economic recovery and called for businesses to take the plunge and invest now.
“You have got to put your head above the parapet and invest in the future,” he said.
He appeared at the event alongside Prince Andrew and Business Secretary Vince Cable.
All three have joined forces to heap praise on Sheffield’s biggest and best business festival yet.
The Prince described the event as ‘extraordinary’ adding that he made the trip to Sheffield because he believed the 2,500 delegates were leaders in their field.
Dr Cable was ‘overwhelmed’ at how the festival has grown in recent years.
