DONCASTER residents are gearing up for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and residents from 25 streets have applied to hold a celebration.
So far, Doncaster Council, which is handling requests for street parties for next month’s jubilee, has had 25 enquiries.
Another seven applications are currently being processed.
Among the events likely to be taking place are a bash in Cantley on Saturday June 2, in Auckley, Bennetthorpe, Bessacarr and Tickhill on Sunday June 3, and in Fishlake and Bentley, on Monday June 4.
The Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend is four days long and runs from Saturday, June 2 until Tuesday, June 5.
Anyone planning a party needs to inform Doncaster Council, which will make arrangements so the street can be closed.
The deadline for applications is this Friday, May 18.
Doncaster Council is also planning an event of its own, with the jubilee being marked by the opening of Gresley Square, Waterdale, Sunday 3.
