Doncaster-born pop star Louis Tomlinson was pictured watching yesterday’s Man City v Newcastle game with ex MCFC ace, Paul Dickov.
This comes just weeks after Doncaster Rovers sacked manager Paul Dickov, following a poor start to the season that saw the team notch up just six points from their first half a dozen games.
Rovers supporter, Louis, attempted a takeover of the club with its former Chairman John Ryan in July last year which fell through when the pair failed the Football League’s “fit and proper person” test for club ownership, and did not manage to raise the £2million needed.
The One Direction star has also previously been signed as a non-contract player for Doncaster Rovers, and has also represented the team in a number of charity matches.
The official Manchester City FC account tweeted a picture of the pair watching the game with the caption: “The @onedirection star was guest of #mcfc legend Paul Dickov at today’s game. #cityvnufc”
The pair watched Man City win with an incredible score of 6-1, as Doncaster Rovers snatched only their second victory of the season against South Yorkshire rivals, Barnsley.
Commenting on the news that Louis watched the Man City game as Dickov’s guest, the official Match of the Day account tweeted: “Shouldn’t you have been at Doncaster watching your boys beat Barnsley @Louis_Tomlinson? #OneDirection”
