Gulliver’s theme park is getting ready to open for the new season – when it will mark its 35th anniversary.

The attraction, at Matlock Bath, was built in 1978 by businessman Ray Phillips as a model village for his children.

The park’s 2013 season will kick off next month during the Easter school holidays.

Julie Dalton, Ray’s daughter and Gulliver’s present-day managing director, said: “My dad created this park to literally build the dream for us as children and that’s something we’ve constantly tried to do for other children over the last 35 years.

“We strive to offer the best value day out as we know how important it is for families to spend quality time together having fun and building memories that last a lifetime. We look forward to doing that for another 35 years and beyond.”
