STREET performers from across the UK will descend on Sheffield this weekend for an event filled with entertainment.
Imove on the Street, a Cultural Olympiad project, will bring the city alive on Saturday and Sunday with a mix of hip-hop battles, physical comedy, acrobatics and pop-up stalls.
Performances will take place at venues including the city centre’s Peace Gardens, The Harley pub, and Meadowhall shopping centre.
Among the acts signed up to take part in the free event are Sheffield-based dance outfit Rationale and London’s So & So Circus Theatre.
Tessa Gordziejko, the project’s creative programmer, said: “The programme invites audiences to stop in the street, dance like nobody’s watching and enjoy fantastic, exhilarating performances. We hope lots of people will take the opportunity to enjoy this event.”
