CHILDREN in Burngreave celebrated different cultures from around the world.

The Ellesmere Children’s centre, on Maxwell Street, opened its doors to all as the centre was transformed into a festival of colours and cultures.

Staff got into the spirit by getting their nails painted and joining in with events.

As part of the annual event the children sampled food from around the world including Jamaica, Spain, Pakistan, France and Morocco.

Other events at the centre included makeovers, massages, jewellery, cards, books and cakes.

There were activities for children and adults on the Friday night.

The children’s centre offers full day care services from Monday to Friday.
