Crafty South Yorkshire children’s handmade creations up for sale

Enterprising youngsters from Rotherham have been getting crafty after setting up a social enterprise, Young Creations, selling handmade cards and gifts.'Multi-media canvases, vintage inspired wooden jewellery boxes, make-up bags, photo frames and decorative notebooks are among the products being sold by the young entrepreneurs through the project led by Turning the Corner (TTC) and involving 25 young people from the Winterhill Young People's Centre.

VINTAGE-inspired jewellery boxes, multimedia canvasses and make-up bags are among the handmade creations being sold by crafty young entrepreneurs in Rotherham.

For 25 enterprising artists from Winterhill Young People’s Centre designed and made their pieces after setting up a social enterprise called Young Creations.

Photo frames, decorated notebooks and handmade cards will also be up for grabs when their creations go on sale at the Rotherham Show in September.

Retailers will sell the items, which the youngsters created under the guidance of Julie Atkinson, owner of Artful Creations.

Julie said: “The enthusiasm was fantastic.”

Paisey Garner, aged 15, said: “Being able to get advice from someone who already runs a successful business was great.”
