Contest for young writers

CHILDREN in Sheffield are being given the chance to create their own interactive story book through a new competition.

Primary schoolchildren in the city can submit ideas for a Story Buddy book, which is designed to speak when read to.

Each school entering the competition will receive a publication in the series in September, before entries close in October.

Hallmark Cards, the organisers of the contest, have also pledged to sell the winning book through its website in time for Christmas and donate a percentage of the profits to the author’s school.

The competition is open to children aged five to seven and closes for entries in October. Schools should email to register their interest.
