QUIZ queen Susan Clegg has become the first Sheffielder to single-handedly beat the best on BBC2 teatime show Eggheads.
The programme - presented by Jeremy Vine, and which pits teams from around the UK against a line-up of some of the best champions in quiz history - was aired last night at 6pm.
It’s notoriously difficult to beat the Eggheads - and particularly rare when one challenger is left to face all five Eggheads on their own.
Susan was one fifth of a team from Barlborough firm AVN, who called themselves ‘The Five Marketeers’.
The other four members - Steven Baldwin, Sue Davenport, Tom Holdsworth and Luke Jackson - lost their rounds one by one, leaving communications co-ordinator Susan, from Woodseats, facing all five Eggheads on her own.
But despite the pressure, Susan was able to remain calm and focused, answering all her questions correctly. Beating a full team of Eggheads single-handedly has only ever been achieved eight times before.
Susan said: “Although I was nervous I managed to dredge up the answers I needed!”
The episode is still available to view on BBC iPlayer.
