Motorists in Sheffield are being advised to ensure their cars are properly maintained.
New research shows more than 50 per cent of British drivers regularly put off getting their car seen by a professional – and in South Yorkshire 47 per cent put off getting their car checked.
Emma Pochin, of car dealership Evans Halshaw, said: “Looking after your vehicle is extremely important, both in terms of protecting your investment and your safety.
“If service intervals are not followed it can make your car less efficient, unroadworthy and even invalidate your warranty.
“Car maintenance includes everything from brakes and tyres to suspension parts and it is clear that having these in anything less than top condition is likely to increase your chances of being involved in an accident.”
