Christmas panto up for a laugh

The University of Sheffield’s Light Entertainment Society will launch its annual Christmas pantomime tonight.

The festive comedy, written by the society’s own Matt Voice, is a send-up version of A Christmas Carol, featuring former Fezziwig’s Fuzzy Wig Factory employee Ebeneezer Scrooge.

Grumpy Ebeneezer is about to receive a much-needed lesson from his old pal Marley, with the help of Bob Cratchit’s devious wife. The show opens tonight at 7pm for a two-night run at the Sheffield Library Theatre, with all proceeds going to Homeless and Rootless at Christmas.
