Youngsters will be able to visit the Arctic in the school holidays when they take a dip with a new attraction at Askern Leisure Centre.
The centre’s swimming pool has welcomed a new £3,700 inflatable, christened the Arctic Adventure, after a generous grant from a local trust.
The new 15 metre floating fun run will be installed at the centre during the school holidays and was the brainchild of staff member Charlotte O’Grady.
Leisure centre manager Stephen Wall said: “The inflatable has been part funded through the Kevin Parkhurst Trust.
“One of our attendants applied to the Kevin Parkhurst Trust and, without the amazing donation and Charlotte O’Grady’s initiative, we would never have been able to bring the Arctic to Askern!”
