SPECTATORS are being urged to make this year’s Great Yorkshire Run on Sunday as lively and atmospheric as possible.
Joggers, club runners and professional athletes are all already limbering up for the event which takes place in Sheffield city centre.
The event is free to spectators along the route. The main race starts at 10am on Sunday.
A whole weekend of family fun is planned, including Junior and Mini Great Yorkshire Runs, as well as live musical performances from Bands on the Run to entertain the crowds throughout the course and across the city centre.
Almost 5,000 people took part in the first event in 2007 - and, five years on, the number of entrants to the 10km race has almost doubled.
