Vintage cars and bikes are set to boost good causes at a gathering at a North Derbyshire stately home.

The annual Eckington classic car and bike show is returning to Renishaw Hall this year, when hundreds of vintage vehicles will be on display.

Organised each year by the Rotary Club of Chesterfield, this year’s event will benefit Weston Park Cancer Hospital in Sheffield, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston, Rotherham, and Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospice.

As well as classic cars and bikes, the event will feature musical entertainment from Direction Theatre Arts and a variety of stalls and amusements, as well as refreshments and bar.

Stuart Bradley, one of the main organisers, said: “Renishaw Hall is the prefect venue for this charitable event which we have run successfully for several years now in support of important local charities.”

Emma Vizor, Bluebell Wood fundraiser, said: “Thank you to Chesterfield Rotary Club for their hard work and commitment to supporting Bluebell Wood. Last year, the show raised £2,000 for the hospice. The amount pays for every one of our children to enjoy a fun session with a specialised nurse in our hydrotherapy pool.

“Every penny we receive makes a real difference and helps us to create very special memories for children and families.”

The show is on Wednesday, June 11, from 3pm to 8pm. Admission is £5 per vehicle. For details, call Mr Bradley on 01246 222777.

n The annual charity Ashover Classic Car and Bike Show is at Rectory Fields, Ashover, on Sunday, July 27, from 10am.
