Carols by the cross in Tickhill

RESIDENTS in Tickhill will celebrate Christmas at the town’s annual carol service on Christmas Eve.

The popular Carols Around The Buttercross service, held in the shadow of the town’s historic landmark building, will get under way at 7pm with the Maltby Salvation Army Band providing the music for a rousing selection of Christmas classics.

The concert, organised by Tickhill Town Council and Tickhill Churches Together, will be attended by Tickhill mayor Coun Raymond Hill, and the Vicar of Tickhill, the Rev Christopher Betson, who will attend his first communal carol concert since being installed in charge of St Mary’s Parish Church earlier this year.

The town’s Christmas lights will also be switched on for the festive gathering.
