A GROUP of young starlets will live out their dreams on stage following a prestigious call-up.

Ballet dancers Hannah Oldham, aged 16, Paige Reid, 15, Holly Mitchell, 14, 13-year-old Rosie Willis and Darcey Allen, 10, have been picked for the English Youth Ballet’s production of Swan Lake.

They were selected from 350 hopefuls who auditioned for the award-winning touring company in March.

The girls, who all hail from Sheffield, Rotherham and North Derbyshire, are now dancing at the Emmanuel School, West Bridgford, Nottingham, in a 10-day intensive rehearsal process ahead of three performances at the city’s Theatre Royal on Friday and Saturday, July 27 and 28.

While Paige, Holly, Rosie and Darcey have supporting roles as swans and cygnets, Hannah, from Dronfield, will play one of the Tsar’s sisters.

Ben Garner, English Youth Ballet company manager, said: “Working with English Youth Ballet will be one of the highlights of these talented dancer’s careers to date.

“The audiences watching are in for a unique and exciting experience too.

“They will see top international principal artists and up-and-coming young talent from their region sharing the stage.”
