Swallownest Bowling Club has received a £3,000 grant to make its facilities accessible to more people.

It has paid for a new access ramp off King Street, Swallownest and other improvements to enable everyone to reach the green.

A series of Saturday evening community matches are being planned for the summer which residents of a local care home will be invited watch.

The grant was awarded by renewable energy firm Banks Renewables, which runs nearby Penny Hill Wind Farm.
