Boffin’s Olympic brain training

Have your say

A SHEFFIELD University lecturer whose brain training techniques helped Bradley Wiggins during the Tour de France will ply his trade at the Olympics.

Psychiatrist Dr Steve Peters, a medicine lecturer, is a ‘mind mechanic’ to champions including Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton.

He said: “I will be at the Olympics and the Paralympics full time working with some athletes outside of cycling, from a whole range of sports.”

His work is based on the Chimp Model, where the irrational side of personality is depicted as a chimp to help people manage reactions.
