Bin locks to stop arson

LOCKS are to be fitted to 400 wheelie bins in the Longley area of Sheffield next month to try to reduce arson attacks.

South Yorkshire Police said Police and Community Support Officers will be working with the probation service and fire service to install the locks.

A police spokesman said: "This is one of the measures we are taking to reduce the opportunities for deliberate and accidental fires to start."
