There was big fun under the Big Top as thousands flocked to see two weekend shows at Sheffield’s newest music event in Graves Park.
Friday night’s show by the Levellers attracted a crowd of 1,500 - but there was double that number for the Saturday night session with local hero Richard Hawley.
Promoter Carly Whitfield said Richard had enjoyed the hometown atmosphere - after turning down the chance to play Glastonbury this year because it was now ‘too commercial’.
“He said it was the best sound he’d had in ages and was very pleased with the whole night,” she said.
“We did have a few problems with the bar on Friday night and the queues were long but by Saturday night we’d boosted the staff and opened a second bottle bar which improved things.
“But we have great foundations on which to build an even better event for next year - we want to expand a bit and we’re looking at a range of options.
“The feedback we’ve had has been very positive and we hope it’s got everyone in the mood for Tramlines next weekend,” Carly added.
