BREAKFAST show radio presenter Big John Harrison is getting ready for some even earlier morning starts following the birth of baby daughter Tilly May.
Wife Del gave birth to their first child 13 days overdue, and the 8lbs 13oz bundle of joy has now been given a name.
Hallam FM’s Big John@Breakfast show presenter, who is also celebrating a new three-year contract, posed for his first picture as a proud dad and thanked everyone for their good wishes.
The 37-year-old told The Star: “Thanks for all the messages and support.
“I’m so shattered I don’t know what day it is! I’m struggling to form sentences and I’ve come out in spots. But I’m planning to be back on air on Monday March 21.”
Hallam FM’s Deputy Programme Director James Lett said the station and listeners were thrilled at the news.
Of John’s new three-year contract he added: “Big John@Breakfast is the most listened-to show on Hallam FM and for John to have been such a great success on his first breakfast presenting job is a testament to his abilities as a presenter. It also helps that he is such a genuinely nice bloke.
“On behalf of everyone here at Hallam FM, I’d like to say congratulations on the birth of his daughter and here’s to another three years.”
John has broadcast his breakfast show from the Maldives, New York and on the first flight out of Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport.
He has been instrumental in the millions raised for the Cash for Kids charity, won Best Personality gold at the New York Radio Awards, and interviewed stars from Colin Farrell to Simon Cowell.
