EXPERTS will be on hand at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve to teach visitors the basics of bird watching next weekend.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will be hosting the event on January 20 from 10.30am to encourage people to take up the hobby.
The reserve is home to a mixture of habitats including wetland, reedbed and woodland, despite being surrounded by urban business parks, a motorway and close to Doncaster town centre.
There are a wide variety of birds all year round and some migrants that are quite rare such as the elusive and endangered bittern. There are 14 hides to choose from which are spread out over the 205 hectares of land and water.
