THE first acts have been announced for this summer’s Tramlines music festival in Sheffield – where admission will be free for the third year running.
The event takes place from Friday, July 22 to Sunday, July 24, with over 70 city venues hosting gigs and more than 100,000 music fans expected to attend.
Rock trio Ash will be playing the main Devonshire Green stage on the Sunday night, along with performances by indie group Frankie and the Heartstrings, local band The Crookes, Dry The River and The Everly Pregnant Brothers.
Among the other acts confirmed are Los Campesinos! and Dananananaykroyd.
Sheffield DJ Toddla T is curating his own dance night at The Octagon on July 23, when Hallam FM will also be presenting appearances from top popstars on the main stage.
Other activities include fairground rides, a kids’ play area and market stalls.
