Crowds have been flocking to Rotherham United FC’s New York Stadium – to sup rather than support.
The football stadium has been playing host to the Rotherham branch of the Campaign for Real Ale’s annual New York Championship Beer Festival.
The festival, held every year at the stadium, offers a mix of entertainment, beers and real ales, as well as food, cider and wine.
The festival began on Thursday, continued yesterday and finishes tonight at 11pm.
John Hyslop, festival deputy organiser, said: “It is going very well. We had a very busy opening night.
“The entertainment has gone down very well, and the beers as well.
“There’s a fantastic range of beers for people to try and the ciders and wines have been popular”
Live music has included duo The Hallowed Travellers and covers band The Yard Dogs, while tonight’s performances include The Starkins at 7pm and The Buffalo Skinners at 9pm.
Tickets are available on the door today, priced £5, which includes a glass and brochure.
