SHEFFIELD Theatres’ award-winning artistic director Daniel Evans has been recognised for his work as a champion of the arts in the city.
Daniel received an honorary doctorate from Sheffield Hallam University at a graduation ceremony at the City Hall, where he gave thanks on behalf of the entire Sheffield Theatres team.
He said: “I’m incredibly lucky that I get to run the best theatre complex in the country.
“I’m incredibly excited about the work that we do - and I continue to be.
“It’s an award that should be accepted by the team I work with at the theatre as well, because without them the work that I do wouldn’t be possible.”
Daniel has attracted to the city some of the best-known names in theatre, and put on successful productions of Hamlet and Othello.
