AN exhibition of work by Sheffield artists and a silent auction are taking place in the city’s Winter Garden to raise funds for the Red Cross.
Among those who have donated work for the auction include pop artist Pete McKee, street artist Phlegm, Yorkshire scene painter Caroline Appleyard and landscape artists Kristan Baggaley and John Paul Cooke.
John said: “When I was approached by the Red Cross earlier this year I was only too pleased to donate one of my works.
“I know with this small gift the Red Cross can use my art in a very special way to help those in need right across the globe.” Community fundraising intern Marcia Vera said: “We’re delighted these incredible artists are supporting the British Red Cross by donating their work.
“This is an amazing event that will allow us to promote the work of the Red Cross and to help us raise much-needed funds.
“Also it will be a fun and exciting chance for art lovers to get an original piece.”
The exhibition is from June 2 to 4 with bids for the silent auction closing on June 4 at 5pm.
Bids can be made on the Red Cross Website by going to www.redcross.org.uk/artauction or made in person at the event.
From noon until 7pm on June 4, there will also be the opportunity to talk to some of the artists about their work.
