MUSICAN Beci Jamieson entertained youngsters at a Doncaster school to mark the end of an arts project.

Conisbrough and Denaby residents gathered at de Warenne Academy, in Conisbrough to celebrate the end of an eight-month project which saw children work with artists from Doncaster Community Arts.

There were films and photos on show and a performance to watch as well as creative activities to try.

Sophy Sylvester, arts development manager at Darts, said the project had involved 11 arts experts from different fields working with five- to 16-year-olds.

They worked at venues across the towns, raging from libraries and youth clubs to children’s centres, wild garden spaces and even the back of a carnival float.

She said: “This project has been a rare opportunity to focus on one area of Doncaster and really get to know the place and the people.

All those who took part in the project were invited to the event so they could see what everyone else had created.
