Award-winning wine maker Kieron Atkinson will be revealing some of the secrets of his trade at a special ‘tour and taste’ event this Sunday at one of Britain’s most northerly vineyards.
Kieron will be at Renishaw Hall and Gardens in north Derbyshire as part of a weekend of food and drink related events, including plant, food and craft fairs.
His vineyard tour will look at the cycle of growing and harvesting through the year and will include an informative tasting session.
Kieron said: “We’ve grown the vineyard in size and reputation and I am really looking forward to welcoming people to come and see this lovely plot of grape-producing land on the Renishaw estate.”
On Saturday the hall will host over 20 local and regional producers selling quality food, drink and crafts from the area and there will be tasty treats to try.
The second of the season’s specialist plant fairs takes place on the Sunday, showcasing specimens for sale.
The Hall is open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout August at 1pm and 2.30pm. A visit gives insight in to the history of the Sitwell family and their art collection.
