Visitors to the Cosy Cinema in Mexborough might need a cushion to hide behind as the next free screening is, befitting to Halloween, a modern horror.

Let The Right One In, will be shown on Thursday October 29 to get people in the Halloween spirit – quite a treat, but there’s also a trick in store.

Dominic Somers, arts supporter for Right Up Our Street, who were instrumental in gaining the funding for the Cosy Cinema, said: “This is our first foray into foreign film and we are sure that the people of Mexborough will enjoy this beautiful, haunting offering from Sweden.

“Regulars to the Cosy Cinema will know we offer so much more than just a place to watch a film.

“To add to the frights for the evening guests will be invited to watch the terrifying virtual reality horror film 11:57 on Oculus Rift.

“Anyone wanting to experience four minutes of sheer screams can join us and experience it for themselves.”

Let The Right One In tells the story of Oskar, a lonely, timid boy who strikes up a relationship with the mysterious girl next door. Oskar soon realises that there may be more to his new crush than meets the eye.

The Cosy Cinema, based at the Concertina Club, is run by a core group consisting of John Beal, Andy Pickering and Paul Dyson.

The group would welcome new members who have an interest in film to get in touch.

Let The Right One In will be shown at 7.30pm on October 29 and best of all it is free.
