South Yorkshire swimmers are being urged to make a last minute entry into Swimathon 2015 for Marie Curie.
The Swimathon takes place next week from April 17 to 19 at a number of pools across the region.
Participants have the option to complete an individual 5k, 2.5k or 1.5k or a team 5k or 1.5k challenge.
Olympic medallist Duncan Goodhew visited Hathersage swimming pool to promote the charity event. He said: “It’s great to see so many people involved this year and there is still time to smash those fundraising targets.
“Swimathon is open to all ages and abilities and provides a great form of exercise, which can help to relax the mind and body and also build endurance, muscle strength and cardio-vascular fitness. Even if you’re not swimming, you can still support a member from your community.”
Marie Curie fundraiser Kyla Collins said: “It’s great to see so many people getting involved in South Yorkshire for this year’s Swimathon. Every length you swim will help raise vital funds for Marie Curie to care for people with a terminal illness and their families.”
