Kylie Minogue fans will be Spinning Around today - the pop princess has announced a world tour including a date at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, writes Graham Walker.
Tickets go on sale this Friday for her Kiss Me Once Tour, which begins in the UK and will see her perform in the city for the first time in 12-years on Thursday, November 13.
There will be 31 shows in 15 countries - including 12 dates in the UK and Ireland. The Sheffield show will be the final night on the UK tour.
The annoucement coincides with the release of her new album, also called Kiss Me Once.
Fans are promised a celebration of both new and old material.
Kylie, also currently to be seen as a judge on the BBC One hit TV show The Voice, has sold more than 68 million records worldwide and over 10.1 million singles in the United Kingdom, making her the 12th best-selling singles artist in UK music history.
Her greatest hits include seven number one singles - Locomotion, I Should Be So Lucky, Got To Be Certain, Confide in Me, Spinning Around, On A Night Like This, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Slow and 2 Hearts.
Kiss Me Once is Kylie’s first studio album since 2010’s Aphrodite and she teams up with Pharrell Williams, who wrote and produced I Was Gonna Cancel.
An Arena spokesman said: “This will be Kylie’s first return to the Motorpoint Arena since she performed two sell out shows in Sheffield on her Fever Tour back in 2002.
“We are expecting a huge demand for tickets and for them to sell very quickly. So our advice to fans is to buy on Friday.”
