Visitor is 100,000th to museum in just nine months

Have your say

Experience Barnsley has received its 100,000th visitor – just nine months after opening.

Jennifer Crimp, from Hoyland, took a trip to the museum with her husband Brian and grandson Henry.

They will return today to receive a special prize donated by Wortley Hall – a one night stay including dinner and breakfast.

Barnsley Council cabinet spokesperson, development, environment and culture Coun Roy Miller said: “Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Crimp on being our 100,000th visitors.

“The culture on offer in Barnsley has been extremely successful and to have so many people visit Experience Barnsley in such a short period of time is testament to just how popular and well-loved the museum and discovery centre is.”
