South Yorkshire museum Experience Barnsley is set to display items from one of its youngest donors.

Six-year-old Archie Ixer, of Park Grove, Barnsley, has supplied a fossil and some Roman pottery found by his grandfather while he was working in Scarborough in 1989.

The items will be part of an interactive display called My Museum.

Coun Roy Miller, of Barnsley Council, said: “My Museum is a fantastic way to engage our young people and help them to understand and appreciate their history and culture.

“I’d like to thank Archie for donating his items, which I’m sure people will be interested in seeing.”
