I’m keeping an open mind over library

I have to admit my first reaction on hearing the plan to convert the Central Library to a 5-star hotel was to say no way.

Save the Graves

I am writing because as a lifelong Sheffielder and author of 20 years as well as a library user, I find the coverage of the council’s plans to allow developers to turn the Central Library Graves building into a 5 star hotel, somewhat biased towards the Council and people deserve the facts.

A fine example

As Chairman of the Hallamshire Historic Buildings Society I attended the inaugural meeting regarding the future of the Central Library and, like most of the audience, was decidedly unimpressed.
