A talent show finalist heaped praise on a Sheffield theatre school when he took part in a musical theatre workshop.
Marcus Collins, who appeared in the X Factor and is touring the country with a production of Hairspray, visited the Verve Academy of Performing Arts at Silverdale School.
He took part in a musical theatre workshop with 50 youngsters.
Marcus said afterwards: “Going to performing arts schools has been an inspiration to so many working artists and performers.
“Academies like Verve have helped nurture and produce some of the world’s biggest stars.
“Sending your children to a performing arts school like this is a great way to keep them active and happy.”
The academy is run by married couple Tim and Sharon Watson-Mitchell.
The theatre school helps children and teenagers learn all aspects of performing arts.
Lian Chambers, whose daughter Imogen attended the workshop, said: “Imogen’s confidence went through the roof.
“She learned new skills, made new friends, experienced taking part in a production and got to meet Marcus Collins – something she can’t wait to tell her friends.”
Verve is to host a free taster day on Saturday September 14, at Silverdale School.
