TYLA and the Dogs D’Amour - a mixture of rock and glam punk - are to play Sheffield and we have a pair of tickets to be won to see them.
They will perform at The Corporation in Sheffield on Saturday, November 26.
The Dogs D’Amour have romantic themes and a poetic lyrical style.
Their music is often described as a mixture of The Rolling Stones and Faces.
Lyrics are delivered with an impelling throaty rasp, tinged with humorous irony and pathos, reflecting Bukowski’s prosaic style.
The Dogs’ sound is firmly rooted in American blues music and Jo Almeida’s unique and distinctive slide guitar is reminiscent of blues masters like Lightnin’ Hopkins and Charlie Patton.
The Dogs began to show a strong country & western side on 1989’s Errol Flynn (released as King Of The Thieves in the United States), a few years before alt-country came into vogue.
Tyla is also an accomplished artist and his distinctive artwork graced the covers of all the Dogs D’Amour albums and singles. Tyla’s artistic style has evolved with every release, progressing from pure comic strip caricatures to elegant semi-abstract depictions in pastel and watercolour.
Tickets are £12, may be subject to a booking fee, available from the venue, also call 0114 256 5656 or book online at www.arenaticketshop.co.uk
