BLACKPOOL Illuminations are 100-years-old and we’ve got the last EIGHT wristbands for a star-studded Switch-On pop concert to celebrate, writes digital editor Graham Walker.
The Real Radio and Smooth Radio event, in association with VisitBlackpool, will feature X Factor winners Little Mix, Lemar, Amy MacDonald, Lawson, Paloma Faith, Scouting For Girls, Noisettes, Blackpool singer-songwriter Karima Francis, boy band Loveable Rogues and girl group Vanquish.
Team GB Olympic heroes, long-jumper Greg Rutherford, boxer Luke Campbell and gymnast Beth Tweddle will turn on the lights, on Friday, August 31.
The Switch-On, on The Tower Festival Headland, is free, but you need wristbands for the main arena and they’ve all gone.
We have the last eight, in association with our pals at Real Radio, Smooth Radio and VisitBlackpool.
For those who can’t get in, the concert will be shown on a big screen by the Central Pier and will be broadcast live on Real Radio and Smooth Radio’s national networks from 7pm - online at www.realradio.co.uk and www.smoothradio.co.uk.
