Sixties star Billy J Kramer celebrates his friendship with The Beatles and his Merseybeat roots with a new semi-autobiographical album, I Won The Fight - we have a copy to be won.
Billy, now 71, back in the UK for his first British tour for 18 years, had huge hits with the likes of Do You Want To Know A Secret and Bad To Me.
His latest album, I Won The Fight, is full of stories about his past.
The title track is about his early days as a railway worker, while To Liverpool With Love tells of his successful campaign to get Brian Epstein, who managed him and The Beatles, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Billy said: “I sent To Liverpool With Love to Paul McCartney and he congratulated me. He said ‘you really captured the moment’.
“From time to time, when Ringo does his all star show he gives me a call and I go down and see him. I’ve also been to a few of his art shows.
“I miss John as time goes by. I would love John, George, Brian and everyone to see me as I am today.I was a shy little kid from Liiverpool. I got through all my issues and came out on top.”
Billy, now with his band The Rising, is headlining a 30-date Solid Silver 60s Show, with support from Mike Pender, the original voice of Sweets For MY Sweet stars The Searchers, Angel Of The Morning hit maker PP Arnold, Chris Farlowe and special guests, The Merserybeats. All seminal artists from the era.
