Tramlines, Sheffield’s city centre music festival, is less than a week away and there’s still time to win our VIP package and other passes, writes Graham Walker.
Featuring 600 artists across four outdoor stages and 60 venues, with a £6 day ticket for the main stage and some venues, it runs Friday to Sunday, July 19 to 21.
And to celebrate we have some amazing prizes to be won.
First prize is a weekend package for one lucky winner and a guest.
It includes weekend passes, with a queue jump for the main stages, Tram Megaride passes courtesy of Supertram, Tramliners wristbands, goody bags with T-shirts and other merchandise, plus entry into the Tramlines pre-party on Thursday, July 18.
Six runners-up will each get a pair of wristbands for Saturday or Sunday. We cannot guarantee which day.
In its fifth year, with a day ticket charge introduced for the main stage and some venues, Tramlines will turn Sheffield into one big festival site.
Acts include Lianne La Havas, Sheffield’s own Toddla T, David Rodigan MBE and, Sunday’s Main Stage headliner, The Selecter - topping an already packed weekend of music.
Other highlights will include Tensnake, B Traits, Theo Parrish, New Young Pony Club, Shangaan Electro, Fenech Soler, Slow Club, Jim Jones Revue, The Invisible, 2.54, Friends, Rolo Tomassi and Dutch Uncles.
Day tickets cost £6 plus booking fee from 2013.tramlines.org.uk/tickets, and under-fives go free.
Wrist bands are needed for the main stages and music venues you would usually pay to enter - Leadmill, Harley, DQ, Plug, O2, and so on. The wristband will get you priority entry into free venues in the city centre.
Free family entertainment will be on offer around the city. Tramlines’ official travel partners are Travel South Yorkshire and Stagecoach Supertram and City Taxis are official festival sponsors with eco-travel campaign #notdriving.
