Fans joined The Reverened Jon McClure and the band to chill in the heatwave by raising a bottle or two at a public launch at The Stag’s Head, on Psalter Lane.

Reverend & The Makers Summer Ale, first successfully launched on draft, is now flying off the shelves in bottles and looks set to be followed with a winter verison from Bakewell-based Thornbridge Brewery.

Bottles, carrying a QR code special offer for the band’s latest album, are available at www.thornbridgebrewery.co.uk.

Guitarist Ed Cosens, a keen home brewer, said of the ale’s rave reviews: “It’s like having a hit record.”
