Emma added; “Hugs are a lovely way to say hello so it’s going to be great getting out and meeting our listeners and giving them a hug. Hugging makes people happy, it’s connecting and I’m looking forward to sharing the hugs and giving out the mugs. We just need some of the local shops to come and fill our mugs with tea… They’ll get a hug too!”
Rotherham’s own Sony Award winner Dixie - real name David Dixon - was the first voice on the new station, filling the airwaves left by Real Radio.
In an exclusive video chat with the breakfast show duo Dixie tells us all about his new ‘toy, not Emma - but his hydraulic sound desk, with mood lighting, which goes up and down like the control console inside Dr Who’s Tardis.
