A world renowned brass band is set to play in Sheffield tonight after winning two prestigious national competitions.
The Black Dyke Band will be performing at a special concert at Sheffield Salvation Army Citadel, Psalter Lane, at 7.30pm.
The band is one of most well-known brass bands in the world with more than 150 years of musical history.
Keith Wileman, Sheffield Citadel bandmaster, said the concert promises to be an entertaining evening.
He said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the Black Dyke Band in their first concert in Sheffield since their magnificent performance at the Open and Nationals.
“We know the concert will be an excellent evening and we’re looking forward to welcoming them back again this year.”
The Black Dyke band has won many prizes and competitions over the years. In 2014, the band won the National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain for a record 23rd time and the British Open Championship for another record 30th time.
They band has also won the European Championships a record 12 times, most recently in 2012.
