Barry Steele presents his multi-media tribute to The Big O, Roy Orbison and Friends, at the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield tonight.
The show features classic Orbison hits from the 1960s right through to the late ’80s, using film footage from the time.
Backed by his band, Barry says he aims to “bring the life and character of Roy Orbison back to the centre stage, where it truly belongs, as he puts the rock back into The Big O, with his trademark dark-rimmed glasses, soaring vocals and Orbison style.
“Special star guests pay homage to Elvis Presley, Dusty Springfield and Jerry Lee Lewis. You have yourself a spectacular fusion of good old ‘rock n roll’ and contemporary musical genius all on one stage.” Barry adds: “It’s not The Big O but you simply won’t believe it!”
The Stage newspaper described the show as “True Identikit brilliance.”
